Lettuce, Gem/Cos

Freshly picked lettuce head, delicious mixed in salads. This gem/cos lettuce is a compact but dense lettuce head. It has ribbed, crunchy, flavourful leaves. Our gem lettuces, are sold as a single, whole head, unlike the tiny gem lettuces in shops For best storage: Once at home, remove/cut leaves from head and wash well. Use a salad spinner to remove as much water as possible (excess water can cause washed leaves to rot), then store in an airtight container. Your washed and prepared leaves should last at least a week. Please note! As we are certified organic, we do not use any pesticides on our farm. We love our lettuce, but so does the wildlife. As lettuces have a lot of crevices and folds, they are more likely to be hiding the occasional slug, bug or aphid. We recommend cutting and washing your lettuce well before eating to get rid of any unwanted hitchhikers.
