Carrots, loose

As we progress through the season, we make loose carrots available for purchase. This is because we often need to clear carrots out of a bed in order to plant our next crop, or we have overharvested for some of our sales streams. In summer, these instances can be infrequent, and so some loose carrots will become available until they are sold. As we progress into autumn, we tend to have more available as loose. As carrots tend to lose sweetness after harvest, we try to sell our loose carrots within two weeks of harvest to maintain maximum flavour. Store in your crisper drawer in your fridge for the longest shelf life. Loose carrots are a more economical choice if your household eats a lot of carrots every week
