Carrots, Bunch

Freshly picked carrots are very different in flavour to storage carrots found in the supermarkets. As with most vegetables, they lose sweetness and flavour the longer they are out of the ground. When freshly picked they are sweet, earthy and flavorful. Delicious eaten raw, slow roasted and caramelized in the oven, or enjoyed how you would normally eat a carrot. We bunch ours with the greens on to indicate how recently they have been picked. Not only that, the greens make a fantastic 'Carrot top Pesto', but are also great in soups and salads as they carry that characteristic carrot flavour.
