Beetroot, bunch

An old favourite. Freshly picked beetroot, bunched together with their leaves as a sign of freshness. Roots are sweet and nutty; delicious roasted, cooked or pickled and eaten in a salad, stew or as an accompaniment. The leaves are also edible and delicious, very similar to chard. Thow them in soups and add them to your dishes as a free, nutritious green! As the season goes on, more and more beetroots will become available topped. This might be because we need to clear a bed for the next crop, the beetroot reached a large enough size that the leaves start to deteriorate, or winter sets in. We try to sell our topped beetroots within 2 weeks of harvest. These beetroots are a more economical choice per kg if your household eats a lot of them
